Independence Day is quickly approaching! The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. Food, fireworks, family and friends, what else do you need?

Do you plan to travel over the 4^th of July? Traveling during any holiday can be hectic due to the rush to get to a specific destination. Use planning and patience to get to your vacation spot safely. If you are searching for tips to help you navigate this busy 4^th of July travel time, consider the following ideas.

1. Book Now: If you are flying, book now. Flights, accommodations, and car rentals can fill up quickly during the holidays. Waiting to the last minute may result in failure to find the best flight for your destination.  
2. Travel Off-Peak: Try to avoid traveling on the 3rd and 4th of July, as these are the busiest days. If possible, try traveling a few days before or after the holiday.
3. Plan for Traffic: If you are driving over the 4^th of July, anticipate heavy traffic and plan accordingly. Leave early in the morning or late at night to avoid peak hours.
